Day 3 made me explore the interesting English language with some added twist to it.
Favorite Word of the Day:
Confinement – [kuh n-fahyn-muh nt] – Imprisonment, Restriction
Solitary confinement by The Members
After 10 days, I started asking myself the question, when would I come out of this confinement?
COMMON SYNONYMS ARE:
Custody – [kuhs-tuh–dee] – Confinement, Jailing
Custody by Patti Page
After 10 days in confinement, I started wondering when will I get out of this forced custody?
Immurement – [ih-myoor] – Detention
Immurement by Mr. Kitty
After 10 days in confinement, I started wondering when will I get out of this forced custody? Its a forced immurement but is need of the hour.
Internment – [in–turn-muh nt] – Captivity
Kenji – Fort Interment by Fort Minor
After 10 days in confinement, I started wondering when will I get out of this forced custody? Its a forced immurement but is need of the hour. Better to fortify in this internment than to be exposed to the dangers outside.
Incarceration – [in–kahr–suh-rey-shuh n] – Imprisonment
Incarceration by Thanartist
After 10 days in confinement, I started wondering when will I get out of this forced custody? Its a forced immurement but is need of the hour. Better to fortify in this internment than to be exposed to the dangers outside. However, at times, the body repels this house incarceration.
The world outside still springs surprises –
- Bumper EMI and rate cut announcement by not-so-rockstar RBI Governor. Markets got totally confused and discarded whatever it gained through the day.
- RBI guv spent the rest of the day clarifying whether the credit card is in the exemption or not. Maybe he saw his own card statement by then and decided that moratorium is better than regret.
- UK PM Boris ensured that he had the Brexit but forgot to wash his hands after the contagious handshake
- Sydney announced a 6-month lockdown in some parts
- India is close to its first distasteful community spread in Bhilwara
- US achieved the ignominious title of leader in Corona affected
- And people seem to be buying more tops than bottoms, as reported by Walmart here. Looks like video calls are forcing to change their sartorial sense as well.
- Wonder if the IMF Governor read that report to announce that we are officially in recession now… some say worse than 2009.
Bye for now!
